Blackhawks D Michal Rozsival Out for Remainder of Playoffs

Norm Hall/NHLI via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival will miss the remainder of the playoffs after fracturing his left ankle in the team's series-clinching Game 4 victory over the Minnesota Wild Thursday night.

"Michal Rozsival suffered a fractured left ankle during the second period of last night's game," Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement. "He will require surgery to repair it. He is not expected to return to full hockey activity until next season."

Rozsival was injured when he fell awkwardly on his left ankle in the second period of Thursday's win. A win which sends the Blackhawks to their third-straight Western Conference Final.

The 36-year-old Rozsival has played in 10 playoff games this postseason averaging 17:26 of ice time per contest.
