Clippers Stomp Grizzlies

National Basketball Association(MEMPHIS) -- A matchup of two of the best teams in the Western Conference turned out to not be a fair fight.

Matt Barnes had 16 points off the bench to lead the Los Angeles Clippers over the Memphis Grizzlies, 99-73 at FedEx Forum on Monday night.

The Clippers (29-9) were playing without starting point guard Chris Paul, who was suffering from a bruised right kneecap. "Missing the best point guard in the world in Chris Paul, we all had to play collectively and step it up, and I thought we did a good job of that," Clippers guard Jamal Crawford said.

Memphis also was missing a key player, as forward Rudy Gay missed the game to be at his grandmother's funeral in Baltimore.

Crawford also scored 16 points for the Clippers, who raced out to a 25-16 first quarter lead and led the rest of the way. Blake Griffin added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Grizzlies (24-12) lost their second straight while only shooting 30 percent from the floor.
