(NEW YORK) -- After testing the free agent waters, receiver Julian Edelman has decided to stay put.
Edelman agreed to re-sign with the New England Patriots Saturday, meaning the Patriots retain their top receiver from 2013.
Terms of the deal have yet to be released.
“Foxboro is home. Excited to be back," Edelman tweeted.
After New England lost receiver Wes Welker in free agency to the Broncos last year, Edelman had a breakout season catching 105 balls, for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns.
The 28-year-old Edelman, a former seventh-round pick out of Kent State, has played all five of his NFL seasons with the Pats. During that time, Edelman has 174 catches, for 1,770 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Edelman also serves as the team's primary punt returner.
