ESPN: Lions Bring Back CB Rashean Mathis

Leon Halip/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Detroit Lions have re-signed corner back Rashean Mathis to a two-year contract, according to ESPN.

The 34-year-old Mathis started all 16 games for the Lions last season, recording 54 tackles, nine passes defended, two forced fumbles, and one interception.

The former first-team All-Pro rejoins corner back Darius Slay and safeties James Ihedigbo and Glover Quin in the Lions' secondary.

Mathis helped the Lions become one of the best defenses in the NFL last season. Detroit tied with Kansas City for second in the league in points allowed per game.
