ESPN: Reds Fire Manager Dusty Baker

Jason Wise/MLB Photos via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Just three days after the team was eliminated from the postseason, the Cincinnati Reds have fired manager Dusty Baker.

According to ESPN, even though Baker was fired, he will still be paid for the 2014 season. He had one year left on his current deal.

Baker had been with the Reds since the 2008 season. While the team won over 90 games in three out of his six seasons with the team, they had very little postseason success.

Under Baker, the team never made it past the Divisional Round and went 2-7 in the postsesaon during his time in Cincinnati despite having talented rosters with high expectations.

On Tuesday, the Reds were eliminated by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Wild Card game, which ended Baker's tenure with the team.

Baker has been a Major League manager for 20 seasons with the San Francisco Giants, the Chicago Cubs, and the Reds.

Before joining the team, the Reds hadn't won over 90 games since 1999.

Whether or not he manages again, Baker is one of just six managers in Major League history to win division titles with three different teams.
