Guillen Returning To Miami To Apologize For Castro Comments

Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images(PHILADELPHIA) -- Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is planning to hold a news conference in Miami Tuesday to apologize and answer questions for his comments he made to Time magazine in which he said he loves and respects former Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Guillen apologized over the weekend after the story came out.

“I know I hurt a lot of people and I’m going to make it clear, especially me,” Guillen said Monday. “I want to get that thing over with.”

A Cuban-American organization is planning to hold a demonstration at Miami’s new ballpark Tuesday.

The Marlins are currently in Philadelphia for a three-game series with the Phillies. The Marlins took the first game on Monday, 6-2. Game two is set for Wednesday.
