Hornets Acquire Forward Ryan Anderson From Magic

NBA via Orlando Magic(NEW YORK) -- The New Orleans Hornets are making some serious moves. The team has agreed to a sign-and-trade for power forward Ryan Anderson, according to ESPN.com.

NBA.com is reporting that Anderson will sign a four-year deal worth between $34-36 million. In return, the Magic will receive center Gustavo Ayon from the Hornets. Since Anderson is a restricted free agent, the Hornets were going to sign him to an offer sheet, but once the Magic decided to not resign Anderson, the two teams came to an agreement of the sign-and-trade.

Anderson spent the past three seasons in Orlando, but his most recent season turned heads around NBA circles. Anderson averaged 16.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and shot .393% from the three-point line. His breakout campaign earned him the NBA's Most Improved Player of the Year Award.

Even with the new deal, the Hornets are still expected to match the Phoenix Suns offer for guard Eric Gordon.
