Hornets, Wizards Involved in Three-Player Deal

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(NEW ORLEANS) -- The New Orleans Hornets dealt center Emeka Okafor and forward Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards Wednesday in exchange for forward Rashard Lewis and a second-round pick in this month’s NBA draft.

The 32-year-old Lewis is entering the final season of a six-year contract worth $118 million. The Hornets are expected to waive him before July 1, according to ESPN.

The 29-year-old Okafor was originally drafted out of Connecticut by the Charlotte Bobcats with the second overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft.  The seven-year NBA veteran has averaged 12.7 points per game during his career.
