Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson tore ACL in practice

Photo by Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(HOUSTON) -- Houston Texans quarterback and Rookie of the Year contender Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL in practice on Thursday, ESPN report, making it likely he will miss the remainder of the season.

Watson had led the Texans to three wins in six starts. He came off the bench at halftime of Week One to relieve Opening Day starter Tom Savage. Watson tossed 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions in seven games.

Savage took over the first-team snaps for Watson during Thursday's practice and will start on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
