Howard Explains Trade Demand

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(ORLANDO, Fla.) -- Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, who has asked the team to trade him, explained on Sunday his decision to request to be moved was due in part to his relationship with Magic general manager Otis Smith.

"I'm pretty sure if you go down the line of teams, every GM has a pretty good relationship with not just the best player but all the players," Howard said. "If you don't have a good relationship with the people you work with, how are you going to get better?"

Howard went on to say trades he had asked Smith to try and complete never happened.  The Lakers and Nets are interested in trading for the all-star center.
