Indians Introduce Terry Francona as New Manager

Robert Rogers/MLB Photos(CLEVELAND) -- The Cleveland Indians introduced Terry Francona as their new manager Monday, replacing the fired Manny Acta.

Francona, 53, sat out this past year after managing the Red Sox for eight seasons. During his tenure in Boston, he compiled a record of 744-522, leading the Sox to two World Series titles.

“We are going to compete,” Francona said. “We are always going to compete. We may not win every game, but we won’t back down from anybody.”

The Indians finished the 2012 campaign with a 68-84 record.
