Jeter Ties Gehrig for Most 200 Hit Seasons by a Yankee

Jared Wickerham/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has reached another milestone. During the Yankees second game of a double-header with the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday, Jeter smacked his 200th hit of the season, tying Lou Gehrig's Yankee record of eight 200 hit seasons.

"It's a lot of hits," Jeter said. "I've always felt that if I was healthy and I go out there and play every day, it's something I'd have a chance to do."

Jeter currently leads all Major League players this season in hits. The 38-year-old is hitting .322, with 15 home runs and has scored 93 runs.
