Josh Hamilton Set to Return for Rangers

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images(ARLINGTON) -- The return of Josh Hamilton to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington is nearly here.

Hamilton is finalizing his rehab appearances in the minor leagues and the Rangers have stated that the former All-Star will travel to Double-A Frisco after completing his stint with Triple-A Round Rock Friday night.

Texas said it will evaluate Hamilton after games on Tuesday and Wednesday to determine if he is ready to return to the majors or needs more minor league work.

Hamilton is recovering from an off-season surgery to repair an AC joint. He did not participate in spring training.

The Rangers re-acquired Hamilton from the Angels on April 27 after two seasons into a five-year, $125 million contract with Los Angeles.
