Kobe Bryant Moves to Fifth All-Time on NBA Scoring List

NBA(PHILADELPHIA) -- You can add another milestone to the long and decorated career of Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant. After scoring 28 points against the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night, Bryant passed his former teammate Shaquille O'Neal to become the NBA's fifth all-time leading scorer.

"To say it's a huge honor would be an understatement," Bryant said after the game. "It's a lot of basketball. I've been very, very fortunate to have such a good career."

Bryant wasn't kidding: even though he's only 33, Bryant is currently in his 16th NBA season, having spent all of those with the Lakers. Even if Bryant retired today, he'd be one of the most accomplished players in NBA history. He has five NBA championships, been named to 13 All-Star games, won one MVP award, and an Olympic gold medal.

Despite battling a wrist issue, Bryant currently leads the NBA in scoring at 29.3 points per game.
