L.A. Lakers Introduce Mike D'Antoni as New Head Coach

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The Los Angeles Lakers introduced Mike D’Antoni as their new head coach Thursday, replacing the fired Mike Brown.

The 61-year-old D’Antoni agreed late Sunday night to a three year contract with L.A. worth $12 million. The team holds an option for a fourth year.

“We are built to win this year,” D’Antoni said. “This is not a project. We have a window and we are going to try to get through it.”

D’Antoni says he is likely to make his coaching debut with the Lakers this Sunday against the Houston Rockets.
