Lakers' Kobe Bryant Unsure About His Future

Doug Pensinger/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- For 17 seasons, Kobe Bryant has been a staple of the Los Angeles Lakers. But Bryant recently admitted that the end could be near.

Bryant's contract runs only until the end of next season, and at 34-years-old, Bryant isn't sure if next season will be his last or not. Even though he's still one of the NBA's best players, he still is making a strong consideration to retire.

"We'll talk," Bryant said. "I'll talk to my family and stuff and really see if I want to continue to sacrifice as much as I'm sacrificing right now. I'm putting my body through a lot to just try to get ready and play every single night. To do what I'm doing now, it's not easy. I'll tell you, it's taken a lot of commitment."

When asked if the 2013-2014 season would be his last, Bryant replied "As I sit here right now, yeah."

Bryant has been dealing with an ankle injury lately, but has still managed to stay on the court. He is currently third in the NBA in scoring.

Not only has Bryant played nearly 17 seasons, he's played in 220 career playoff games, which is nearly three seasons of basketball in itself.
