(LOS ANGELES) -- Even though Los Angeles Lakers' power forward Pau Gasol is having arguably the worst season of his career, he will not ask to be traded.
Gasol has had a hard time fitting into head coach Mike D'Antoni's system. After helping the Lakers win two NBA Championships since joining the team, Gasol finds himself struggling just to fit into the team's starting lineup.
During Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Gasol found himself benched for the fourth quarter for the fourth time since D'Antoni took over the team earlier in the season. He finished with just two points and four rebounds in 27 minutes.
"No, oh, that's radical," Gasol said when asked if he would be requesting a trade. "I still believe. I still have faith in what we have. I still have faith that I can be a big part in helping this team succeed. Right now, I'm not being able to do that very often."
In his 12th season, Gasol is averaging career lows in points and field goal percentage. He's also averaging 8.5 rebounds per game, which is his lowest mark in a season since the 2004-2005 season while a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.
