(CORAL GABLES, Fla.) -- After leading University of Miami to its first ACC regular season and postseason titles, the school has rewarded head basketball coach Jim Larranaga with a three-year contract extension.
The deal keeps Larranaga in Coral Gables through the 2021-22 season.
“The University of Miami is an elite academic institution, in a great geographical location, competing in the best basketball league in the country,” the 73-year-old Larranaga said in a statement. “It has always been my goal to compete at the very highest level, so I am fortunate, and humbled, that I will be able to pursue this opportunity for the remainder of my career.”
Larranaga is heading into his third season with the Hurricanes. During his first two seasons, Larranaga compiled a 49-20 record.
