LeSean McCoy Thinks Michael Vick Is "Way Better" than Geno Smith

Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Even though no decision has been made as to whom will be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets next season, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy says Michael Vick should be the clear favorite over Geno Smith.

Vick will be reunited with former Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg who is currently serving under the same title with the Jets. He'll also be entering his 12th NFL season.

The team signed Vick as insurance in case second-year quarterback Geno Smith does not develop as well as the team hopes.

"Vick is going to be the starting quarterback," McCoy told the New York Post. "He's way better than Geno Smith. Way better. There's no contest."

Even if Vick is named the starter for Week 1, health has always been an issue for the 33-year-old. He's appeared in 16 games just once during his career and that was all the way back in 2006. He played in just seven games for the Eagles this past season, and had 11 turnovers.

In his rookie season, Smith threw for 3,046 yards with 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
