Lewis, Rangers Agree To One-Year Contract Extension

Texas Rangers/MLB(ARLINGTON, Texas) -- Starting pitcher Colby Lewis and the Texas Rangers have agreed to a one-year contract extension, which will keep the right-hander in the Lone Star state through the 2013 season. The deal is for $2 million, and could be worth an additional $4 million in incentives, according to ESPN.

The 33-year-old Lewis went down earlier this season with a torn flexor tendon in his pitching elbow. He is expected to miss the remainder of the year.

In 16 starts this season, the 33-year-old Lewis was 6-6 with a 3.43 ERA. He struck out 93 batters in 105 innings of work.
