LHP Affeldt Resigns with the San Francisco Giants

Ron Vesely/MLB Photos via Getty Images(SAN FRANCISCO) -- The World Series champion San Francisco Giants re-signed left-handed pitcher Jeremy Affeldt, inking him to a three-year contract on Wednesday. The deal is worth $18 million.

The 33-year-old Affeldt was a key component in the Giants championship run this past season, posting a 2.70 ERA in 63 1-3 innings of work. In the playoffs, he tossed 10 1-3 innings of scoreless relief in ten appearances.

Affeldt has been with the Giants since 2009, going 10-9 with a 2.73 ERA in 237 1-3 innings. He also has played for the Kansas City Royals, the Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Reds.
