Major League Baseball Reinstates Outfielder Melky Cabrera

Back on August 15, Cabrera was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for a positive testosterone test. Despite his reinstatement, the team has no plans to add him to the postseason roster.

Before his suspension, Cabrera was one of the best hitters in baseball. In 113 games, the 28-year old Cabrera hit .346 with 11 home runs and 60 runs batted in. He also won the All-Star Game MVP for the National League, giving them home field advantage in the World Series.

"Cabrera's status regarding the postseason remains unchanged," Giants vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evan said back on September 27.

Cabrera is set to become a free agent once the postseason ends.
