Marlins' Ramirez Will Accept Switch to Third Base

Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images(SANTO DOMINGO) -- Miami Marlin Hanley Ramirez has agreed to accept a switch from shortstop to third base.

During the off-season, the Marlins signed free agent shortstop Jose Reyes to a six year, $106 million contract.

There was speculation that Ramirez was unhappy with switch, but new manager Ozzie Guillen warmed him to the idea.

"I have spoken with Guillen," Ramirez said. "What we want is to win with the Marlins. We will see what's going to happen with the position switch and everything else. If it's third base, OK. Wherever they put me to win, I will do so."

Ramirez hasn't talked to Reyes since the signing, but he has said Reyes is a great person and he respects him.
