Metta World Peace's Future Up In the Air

Harry How/Getty Images(EL SEGUNDO, Calif.) -- Now that he's no longer a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Metta World Peace has no set plans for his future in athletics.

World Peace is said to be generating interest from the Clippers and Knicks, but World Peace isn't even sure if he wants to continue playing basketball.

"I don't really want to play for anybody," World Peace said on Friday. "I don't want to go anywhere. I want to go to China, or coach, or play arena football."

World Peace just finished his fourth season with the Lakers and averaged 12.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his 14th NBA season. But he'd be prepared to play in China.

"You don't live twice," World Peace said. "You're not 33 twice. You won't be able to play in China at a good level again. I wouldn't be able to play in China again averaging, maybe, 40 or more points. That would be fun."

Because of salary issues, the Lakers decided it'd be best to let World Peace go under the amnesty clause. The team will still pay him his $7.7 million salary, but it won't count against their salary cap.
