Miami Will Be Without Reggie Johnson in Sweet 16 Game

Joe Robbins/ Getty Images(CORAL GABLES, Fla.) -- Miami center Reggie Johnson will not play in the Hurricane's Sweet 16 game Thursday.

"Reggie Johnson did not travel to the Sweet 16 in Washington, D.C., with the men's basketball team after sustaining a lower extremity injury against Illinois," Miami spokeswoman Amy Woodruff said. "His timetable for returning to the court is uncertain."

The 6-foot-10, 300 pound Johnson, has played in 26 games for Miami this season averaging 6.7 points and seven rebounds a game.

Johnson suffered a thumb injury earlier this season resulting in him missing eight games.

Miami takes on Marquette Thursday night, with the winner advancing to the Elite 8.
