Michael Carter-Williams Ready to Get Back to Work

Jim McIssac/Getty Images(KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.) -- Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams is expected to be ready for camp in late September.

The 2014 Rookie of the Year had surgery on May 13 to repair his labrum in his right shoulder and said he's not 100 percent, but plans to be on the court.

"I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things," Williams said. "Last year was a long year. I’m really looking forward to this year and improving as a team."

"I think regardless who is on the team, I have to be a leader out there, give direction to the new guys and really bring the team together," Carter-Williams continued.

The 22-year-old led all rookies in scoring (16.7 points), assists (6.3), rebounds (6.2) and steals (1.9), but still hasn't been cleared to play.

The Sixers had one of the worst records in NBA history last year after they finished 19-63.
