(NEW YORK) -- Former Chicago Bears head coach and current ESPN NFL analyst Mike Ditka is recovering from a minor stroke he suffered on Friday.
Just a few days after the stroke, the 73-year old Ditka made his return the airwaves when he appeared on ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike In the Morning.
"I feel good," Ditka said Monday. "I felt good before I had this thing."
"I was kind of like driving down life real fast and I had a flat tire," Ditka added. "It opens your eyes."
Ditka suffered the stroke at a Chicago-area country club. He realized something was wrong when he had trouble using his hands and couldn't speak properly.
The NFL Hall Of Famer coached the Bears from 1982-1992 and led the team to a Super Bowl title in 1985. He last coached in the NFL in 2000 with the New Orleans Saints.
