Minnesota Brings Down (1) Indiana

Joe Robbins/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS) -- It's still not so good to be No. 1.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers upset the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers on Tuesday night behind 21 points from Trevor Mbakwe, 77-73 at Williams Arena.

It was the seventh loss this season for a team ranked No. 1 in the AP poll. "We weren't physical enough on the glass. That's the bottom line," Indiana (24-4) coach Tom Crean said.

"We're trying to do big things so we have to learn from this mistake, but we have to dust it off real fast," Hoosiers guard Victor Oladipo said.

Minnesota (19-9) got 16 points from Andre Hollins in a win they desperately needed. "I didn't feel I was playing up to my potential lately. I just wanted to come out and be aggressive," Mbakwe said.

Indiana allowed 40 points in the paint.
