Nationals Top Giants, 6-4, Strasburg Wins No. 14

Gary Bogdon/MLB Photos via Getty Images(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Stephen Strasburg picked up his 14th win of the season on Wednesday after the Nationals topped the Giants, 6-4.  Strasburg’s innings count is now up to 139 1/3 innings after Wednesday’s six innings of work.

His manager Davey Johnson brushed off questions when asked about his phenom’s innings count.  But Strasburg (14-5) was able to discuss the situation.

"It's out of my control," said Strasburg. "I'm just doing everything I can to help this team win games, and it's all going to take care of itself in the end."

The Nationals (73-45) lead the NL East by 4.5 games and Strasburg’s inning pitch count is anywhere between 160-180 innings right now which would mean only four to five more starts for Strasburg.
