No. 2 Florida State Rocks Syracuse 59-3

Banana Stock (TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) --  After a week of distractions, Florida State went out and took care of business.

Jameis Winston showed no ill effects after a tough week on campus.  He threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns as No. 2 Florida State (10-0, 8-0 ACC) demolished Syracuse 59-3.

The news broke Wednesday that Winston was under investigation for an alleged sexual assault which took place in December 2012.  Attention shifted from the Orange to the many unanswered questions surrounding the investigation, but the Seminoles stayed the course and reaped the benefits on Saturday.

"It's the same thing every single week," Winston said. "We prepare ourselves the same way every single week. One thing about Florida State, we're a big family. So we stay inside the family."

The Seminoles outgained Syracuse (5-5, 3-3) 523-427.  They are currently second in the BCS stands and are likely three victories away from locking down a spot in the BCS championship game.

"I thought he played exceptionally well," Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said about Winston. "His mind was really in the game."

Orange quarterback Terrel Hunt completed 10 passes for 75 yards in the loss.
