(OAKLAND) -- The Oakland Raiders signed defensive end Justin Tuck on Thursday. The two-year deal is worth $11 million, according to ESPN.
Tuck was originally selected by the Giants out of Notre Dame in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. In nine seasons with New York, Tuck recorded 60.5 sacks, 20 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and two interceptions. He ranks sixth on the Giants all-time sacks list.
“Obviously, everyone knows I love the New York Giants and I appreciate nine years of my career being there, but I just wanted a new, fresh start and I think Oakland is definitely a good place to be,” Tuck said in a conference call. “Everyone knows the fan base is great out here. I am looking forward to it.”
Tuck served as defensive captain for the Giants from 2010-13.
