Orioles Infielder Wilson Betemit Lands On 15-Day DL

Tony Firriolo/MLB Photos via Getty Images(BALTIMORE) -- The Baltimore Orioles placed infielder Wilson Betemit on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of a wrist injury.

The O’s recalled first baseman Joe Mahoney from Triple-A Norfolk to take Betemit’s place on the roster.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters that an MRI revealed that the ten-year MLB veteran suffered a small cartilage tear and a bone bruise in his right wrist.

In 97 games this season, Betemit is batting .264 with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs.
