Patrick Roy in Talks with Colorado Avalanche

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(DENVER) -- Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy could be the new head coach of his former team, the Colorado Avalanche, according to his younger brother, Stephane.

Stephane posted on his Facebook page on Monday that his brother would be the new coach and told The Denver Post that the two sides are "discussing the final details of an arrangement."

"Colorado is going to be very happy. Patrick is looking for a new challenge," Stephane told the Post.

Roy was part of two Stanley Cup titles with the team and his former teammate Joe Sakic is involved with the front office.

Roy spent 19 seasons with the Avs and retired in 2003.  The Avalanche would not comment on the situation.
