“Mike is a talented veteran center who has produced offensively everywhere he has played,” Predators general manager David Poile said. “We have done our due diligence and believe Mike has a lot to offer to our team, improves us at our center ice position and will fit in with our group and contribute.”

The 34-year-old Ribeiro played in 80 games for the Phoenix Coyotes last season, racking up 16 goals and 37 points. After the season, the Coyotes bought out the remaining three years of Ribeiro's contract for what Phoenix general manager Don Maloney called "behavioral issues."

Ribeiro is a 14 season NHL veteran. During that time he has played in 865 games, producing 202 goals and 656 points.
