(CLEVELAND, Ohio) -- The Cleveland Browns agreed to terms on a contract with first-round pick Johnny Manziel, the team announced Tuesday.
While the terms of the deal have not been announced, Manziel was the 22nd overall pick of the draft. Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant, who was the 22nd pick of the 2013 draft, is expected to earn $8.2 million over the first four years of his rookie deal, with $4.3 million guaranteed.
Manziel played two seasons at Texas A&M, throwing for 7,820 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions. Manziel also ran for 2,160 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Manziel is battling with Brian Hoyer for the team's starting quarterback job.
