Ravens Back In Super Bowl After Beating Patriots

Jared Wickerham/Getty Images(FOXBOROUGH, Mass.) -- The Baltimore Ravens finally got past the New England Patriots.

Joe Flacco threw three touchdown passes to lead the Ravens past the Patriots 28-13 in the AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.

After a last-second loss to the Patriots in the same stadium denied them a chance at a Super Bowl championship, the Ravens came back and flipped the narrative. It will be their first Super Bowl appearance since 2001, and it will come against the brother of Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Jim, and his San Francisco 49ers.

In the first half, the Ravens went up 7-3 on a Ray Rice touchdown run, but the Patriots came right back and kicked two field goals before halftime for a 13-7 lead.

Baltimore got the lead for good in the third quarter after a 10-play, 87 yard drive resulted in a touchdown to tight end Dennis Pitta.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was intercepted twice despite thowing for over 300 yards.
