Ravens Cut Linebacker Sergio Kindle

NFL via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Despite battling his way back from a devastating injury off the field, the Baltimore Ravens have cut linebacker Sergio Kindle.

Kindle was the team's second round pick (43rd overall) in the 2010 draft, but never saw the field. He spent his entire rookie season on the reserve/non-football injury list after he fractured his skull while falling down a flight of steps.

He appeared in just two games over the past two seasons, and recorded just one tackle.

"It was kind of mutually agreed upon between the two of us," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. "He's hoping for an opportunity somewhere where he can maybe take the next step."

Harbaugh is disappointed Kindle was unable to make an impact for the team.

"He and I have gotten real close," Harbaugh told the Baltimore Sun. "I feel some responsibility for him and really want to see him do well."

While at Texas, Kindle was one of the best linebacking prospects in the nation coming into the 2010 Draft.
