Alex Cobb fired 6 2/3 innings of shut-out baseball as the Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Cleveland Indians 4-0 Wednesday night in the AL wild-card game.

After missing a large portion of the season recovering from a head injury, Cobb led the Rays to yet another must-win game on the road.

"Nobody wants to go home," Cobb said.

Delmon Young hit a home run in the third inning for the Rays, while Desmond Jennings added a two-run double in the fourth.  Fernando Rodney worked a perfect ninth inning to help slam the door on Cleveland's season.

Under first-year manager Terry Francona, the Indians went from 94 losses in 2012 to 92 wins this year.  They won their final 10 regular season games to make the postseason for the first time since 2007.

"It hurts. We didn't want to go home yet," Francona said.

The Rays advance to the ALDS to take on the Boston Red Sox, with game one set for Friday at Fenway Park.
