Red Sox to Sign Shane Victorino

Denis Poroy/Getty Images(NASHVILLE) --  The Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with free-agent outfielder Shane Victorino on a three-year, $39 million contract, according to ESPN.

The 32-year-old Victorino is a career .275 hitter with 90 home runs and 409 RBI in nine MLB seasons with the San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

He was traded from the Phillies to the Dodgers this past July.  He hit .255 with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and a .704 OPS with both teams.

He is a three-time Gold Glove winner and is a natural center fielder, but he will most likely play rightfield next to Red Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury.

The terms of the contract are exactly the same as the deal given to free-agent first baseman/catcher Mike Napoli on Monday.
