Rockets GM Daryl Morey Has Faith in James Harden

NBA via Oklahoma City Thunder(NEW YORK) -- Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey was on desperate search to acquire a star player, and he thinks he's found one in James Harden.

This past weekend, the Rockets were able to acquire Harden from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Harden is the reigning NBA's Sixth Man of the Year and was on the U.S. Men's Olympic Basketball team this past summer in London. Morey is excited to have Harden in a Rockets uniform.

"I actually didn't think they'd trade him," Morey said. "I think he's a great, great player. I think he's already playing at an All-Star player and is going to be a perennial All-Star and those players are rarely traded so I thought, frankly, it was going to work out there. I'm very happy for the Houston Rockets that he's here."

Harden was drafted third overall by the Thunder in the 2009 draft and has improved every season he's been in the league. This past season, Harden averaged 16.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
