Roger Clemens to Pitch in Independent League

Brendan Smialowski/Getty Images(HOUSTON) -- Retired no more.  Roger Clemens is coming out of retirement to pitch in an independent baseball league.

The seven-time Cy Young award winner will join the Sugar Land Skeeters and is expected to be with the team on Friday. He will pitch on Saturday.

The 11-time All-Star last pitched with the New York Yankees in 2007 during Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.

Clemens was found not guilty on all six counts of lying to Congress in 2008, when he testified that he never took performance-enhancing drugs on June 18, 2012.

The Skeeters were founded in 2010 and Clemens' first scheduled start is against the Bridgeport Bluefish on Saturday night.
