Saints Trade RB Darren Sproles to Eagles

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The New Orleans Saints traded running back Darren Sproles to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fifth-round pick in this year's NFL draft.

Sproles had 220 rushing yards, 71 receptions for 604 yards and 4 total touchdowns during limited snaps last season with New Orleans.

In three seasons with the Saints, Sproles rushed for 1,067 yards, 1,981 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. He set an NFL single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,696 in 2011.

The Saints signed running back Pierre Thomas on Wednesday to a two-year contract.
