Scherzer Leaves Game Early with Shoulder Fatigue

Brian D. Kersey/Getty Images(DETROIT) -- Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer left in the second-inning of the Tigers 12-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics Tuesday night, after experiencing shoulder fatigue.

"I noticed it in the first inning, but I didn't have any pain in my shoulder," Scherzer said. "My arm was dead."

Scherzer had an MRI on his right shoulder during the game. The Tigers announced no structural damage had been found, but Scherzer would not throw for two days before being re-evaluated.

The 28-year-old fireballer currently leads the Majors in strikeouts with 224.
