Seahawks Nip Bears in OT, 23-17

David Banks/Getty Images(CHICAGO) -- The Seattle Seahawks picked up their second win on the road in 2012 after they defeated the Chicago Bears (8-4) in overtime, 23-17.

Seattle (7-5) had a lead late in regulation, but Bears kicker Robbie Gould sent the game into overtime with a field goal as time expired.  The Seahawks won the toss in overtime and then Russell Wilson hit Sidney Rice in the end zone with a 13-yard touchdown pass that went under review, before ruled officially a touchdown.

On the play, Rice suffered a hit from Major Wright that knocked the ball loose and Rice out before he broke the plane of the goal line.

"He's just so beautifully poised and so confident that it gives himself a chance to play at this level," coach Pete Carroll said of Wilson, who had two touchdown passes in the game.

The Seahawks are now atop the NFC wild-card lead headed into their game at home next weekend against the Cardinals.

"I just told the guys, `This is what the season comes down to, right here and right now," Wilson said.

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was 17 of 26 for 233 yards and threw for two touchdowns in the loss.

"That hasn't happened to us very often around here," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said. "Terrible job I did getting our football team ready. I thought we were ready to go. Some decisions I made really hurt us early on."
