Sharks Clobber Avalanche

Don Smith/NHLI via Getty Images(SAN JOSE, Calif.) -- Patrick Marleau is having quite the start to his season.

Marleau scored two goals for the fourth straight time and the San Jose Sharks shut out the Colorado Avalance, 4-0.

Marleau became only the second player in NHL history to score more than one goal in each of the first four games of a season.

The power play has been a strength for San Jose (4-0-0, 8pts) this season, as they have converted 10 goals in 24 chances. They got another one of those goals from Joe Thornton in the second period.

The Avalanche (2-2-0, 4pts) have lost seven straight games in San Jose.

San Jose also logged 43 shots on goal.
