Spurs' Manu Ginobili May Miss 'Weeks'

San Antonio Spurs/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Just when the San Antonio Spurs were getting healthy, they will have to continue their high-level play without guard Manu Ginobili for the near future.

On Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers, Ginobili suffered a strained hamstring. While the severity of the injury is unknown, he's expected to miss multiple weeks and could possibly miss the start of the playoffs.

"It's more like weeks, unfortunately," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. "It's a huge blow for us because he's the guy that allows our second team to do what they've been doing all year long. It's a huge loss for that group, and in game situations, it's a tough one because he's one of two guys, he and Tony (Parker), are the creators who make things happen for everybody else on the court."

He may be 35 now, but Ginobili is still one of the best players no the Spurs. In 23.4 minutes a night, Ginobili is averaging 11.9 points and 4.6 assists per game.

Heading into Monday night, The Spurs have the second best record in the NBA, and the best record in the Western Conference.
