Emotional Chiefs Defeat Panthers 27-21.

Peter Aiken/Getty Images(KANSAS CITY, MO.) -- Just one day after linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself, the Kansas City Chiefs put together their best game of the season, a 27-21 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

"As far as playing the game, I thought that was the best for us to do, because that's what we do," Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. "We're football players and football coaches and that's what we do, we play on Sunday."

Brady Quinn played his best game in a long time for the Chiefs, (2-10) throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns.  This was the team's first win at Arrowhead Stadium all season.

Belcher shot himself in the parking lot of the stadium in front of Crennel, general manager Scott Pioli and other team staff members.

Cam Newton threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns for the Panthers, who dropped to 3-9 with the loss.  They were informed that the game would be played as scheduled when they were traveling to Kansas City on Saturday.

This was a game of lead changes.  The Panthers led 14-10 in the second quarter before Quinn hit Tony Moeaki for a one-yard touchdown to take the lead for good.

The Panthers got to within 24-21 before the Chiefs went on one of their best drives of the season.  A clock-eating drive that resulted in a Ryan Succop field goal to put the game out of reach.

NFL Preview: Broncos At Chiefs

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Denver Broncos (7-3) will head to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to take on the Kansas City Chiefs (1-9).

The Broncos are looking to pad their AFC West lead and the Chiefs are looking to be competitive down the stretch.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was asked about playing in a tough environment on the road.

"It's always been loud the times I've played there," said Manning.  "I've always thought their fans were smart fans, they get loud at the right times."

Despite their 1-9 record, Manning is expecting the Chiefs defense to come out firing.

"They can get a lot of pressure on the quarterback," said Manning.  "They're well coached, well disciplined."

Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn will get the start on Sunday and is looking forward to seeing his former team.

"I want to win," said Quinn.  "People feel like Denver needs that win more than us, but there is no doubt about it.  Guys in that locker room need that win."

"We know we have to fight. We have to do everything in our power to be the best we can be, to be perfect," coach Romeo Crennel said. "That's what I told them, we have to be perfect because that's the only way we have a chance."

Quinn In, Cassel Out As Starting QB For Kansas City Chiefs

J. Meric/Getty Images(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) -- The Kansas City Chiefs named Brady Quinn their new starting quarterback on Monday, replacing Matt Cassel.

The Chiefs won the AFC West division two years ago with Cassel under center, but are off to a 1-5 start this season.

Cassel suffered a concussion against Baltimore back in Week 5, giving way to Quinn, who started for the first time since 2009 against Tampa Bay.  The 27-year-old Quinn finished the game 22-38 for 180 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions as the Buccaneers rolled, 38-10.

On the season, the 30-year-old Cassel is 103-176 for 1,150 yards along with five touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Chiefs' Brady Quinn Named Starter Against Bucs

Leon Halip/Getty Images(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) -- Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel will not participate in Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers thanks to a concussion. Instead Brady Quinn will start for the first time in an NFL game since the 2009 season. Head coach Romeo Crennel has faith in Quinn.

"I'm confident he knows the system. He's been with us," Crennel said. "He's as ready as he's going to be, and that's not going to change in a few days."

Quinn has been taking repetitions with the first team in practice all week and is focused on the Buccaneers.

"I'm still just preparing and staying ready," Quinn said. "One of the biggest differences for me is you get to practice more instead of taking more mental reps, so that's an advantage."

Ricky Stanzi will serve as the backup to Quinn on Sunday while Cassel continues to recover.  Doctors have not cleared Cassel for contact yet.

Brady Quinn Criticizes Tim Tebow, then Clarifies Comments

Ezra Shaw/Getty Images(DENVER) -- Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow rose from third-string quarterback to playoff hero during the season, but in doing so he may have rubbed some of his teammates the wrong way. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Broncos backup quarterback Brady Quinn vented over "Tebowmania" and all that came with it during this past season.

"I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that," Quinn said regarding Tebow taking over as the starting quarterback. "Just 'cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I don't have any billboards. That would have been nice."

"If you look at it as a whole, there's a lot of things that just didn't seem very humble to me. When I get that opportunity, I'll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and playing but by praying with my teammates, you know?"

Quinn later retracted his comments that could have come off as overly critical.

"The comments attributed to me in a recent magazine article in NO WAY reflective of my opinion of Tim and the Broncos," Quinn tweeted. "Tim deserves a lot of credit for our success and I'm happy for him and what he accomplished. Most importantly, he is a great teammate. The story was conducted three months ago, and the resulting story was a completely inaccurate portrayal of my comments."

Since joining the Broncos before the 2010 season, Quinn has yet to take a snap in a regular season game with the team.

Despite Struggles, Tebow Still the Broncos' Starter

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(ENGLEWOOD, Colo.) -- Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has announced quarterback Tim Tebow will remain the team's starter for Sunday's road game against the Oakland Raiders.

"We're getting to know him better, and he's getting to understand the offense better," Fox told reporters on Monday.  "We've got to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game."

Tebow has struggled in his two starts this season.  His completion percentage is under 47 percent.  He did help his team come back to beat the Miami Dolphins in week seven, but the Broncos were blown out at home by the Detroit Lions 45-10 on Sunday.  Tebow was sacked seven times in the game.

Denver, in last place in the AFC West with a 2-5 record, has two other quarterbacks on its roster, Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.
