Sizemore Staying in Cleveland

Ron Vesely/MLB Photos via Getty Images(CLEVELAND) -- Three-time All-Star outfielder Grady Sizemore and the Cleveland Indians have agreed to a one-year contract that could be worth as much as $9 million.

The deal includes a base pay of $5 million and another $4 million in incentives based on plate appearances.

Sizemore has had trouble staying on the field the past three seasons, playing in only 210 games. He has undergone five surgeries over the last two years.

The Indians are hoping Sizemore can resemble the player he was from 2005-2008, when he slugged 97 home runs and won two Gold Glove awards.

Indians Decline Option on Sizemore, Acquire Derek Lowe

Comstock/Thinkstock(CLEVELAND) -- The Cleveland Indians made a few roster moves Monday, acquiring starting pitcher Derek Lowe from the Atlanta Braves and declining their 2012 option on center fielder Grady Sizemore.

Sizemore's career has been hampered by injuries over the past three years.  His best season came in 2008, when he hit 33 home runs, drove in 90 runs, and stole 38 bases.

Lowe was 9-17 with a 5.05 ERA last season.  The Braves received minor league pitcher Chris Jones in return for Lowe.

The Indians also exercised their $7 million option on starting pitcher Fausto Carmona.
