Chandler Parsons has Surgery on Knee

Christopher Trotman/Getty Images(DALLAS) --  Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons had surgery Friday to repair cartilage in his right knee.

Parsons, who missed 10 out of the Mavericks' last 11 games, had the surgery performed by Dr. T.O. Souryal at Texas Sports Medicine.

The 6-foot-10, 230-pound Parsons signed a three-year, $46 million deal with the Mavs before the season.

The 26-year-old averaged 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and one steal per game this season.

There is no timetable for Parsons' return.

ESPN: Mavericks' Rajon Rondo's Back Injury a Ruse

NBA via Boston Celtics(NEW YORK) -- The Dallas Mavericks' season ended in disappointing fashion, but point guard Rajon Rondo's fate with the team was sealed before even getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

After a 36-second stint during the Mavericks Game 2 playoff game against the Houston Rockets in which he picked up two personal fouls and a technical, Rondo never appeared in the lineup again. At the time, the team announced it was because of a back injury.

But according to ESPNDallas.com's Tim MacMahon, Rondo's injury was fabricated by the team.

"The truth was that the Mavs didn’t want Rondo, who was going to be replaced in the starting lineup regardless, pouting and rubbing off on other players, [Monta] Ellis in particular," MacMahon said. "Essentially, the Mavs made a drastic move in an attempt to do damage control on a chemistry crisis."

Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has even acknowledged that Rondo will likely never play for the team ever again. He's set to become a free agent this summer.

Carlisle Fined 25K for Criticizing Officials

Dallas Mavericks/NBA(NEW YORK) -- Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle was fined $25,000 by the NBA Saturday for criticizing officials after his team's Game 3 playoff loss to the Houston Rockets Friday.

"I have strong feelings about how I feel about my team, and I'm going to fight for my team," Carlisle said Saturday. "That's just the way it's going to be. I'm a lot like my owner. I'm going to fight for my guys. I understand the fine. I accept it, and I think they'll put the money to very good use."

At his Game 3 postgame press conference Carlisle complained about some of the physical play on the court. He then talked specifically about a play that occurred at the beginning of the fourth quarter that involved Rockets center Dwight Howard.

"We're scrambling like hell defensively and Devin Harris is going to get the ball, and Dwight Howard throws him into our bench," Carlisle said. "He takes the ball, skips it over the top and (Trevor) Ariza gets a wide-open 3. So instead of us getting the ball and a foul on Howard, it turns into essentially a five- six-point swing.

"That stuff's got to stop. The officials got to get that stuff under control, because there's too much physical stuff going on. Howard is throwing people all over the place, and that can't happen in Game 4."

The Rockets lead the best-of-seven series 3-0. Game 4 is Sunday night in Dallas.

Mavericks Rule Out Point Guard Rajon Rondo Indefinitely

NBA via Boston Celtics(DALLAS) -- The Dallas Mavericks are ruling out point guard Rajon Rondo indefinitely because of an injury he sustained Tuesday night against the Rockets, according to the team.

When asked Wednesday if he expects Rondo to be in a Mavericks uniform next season, head coach Rick Carlisle replied: "No, I don't."

Rondo played only 34 seconds in the second half of Dallas' Game 2 loss, and he was benched by Carlisle after picking up two quick fouls while defending James Harden, as well as a technical. The former All-Star logged just under 10 minutes of court time for the whole game.

Rondo hurt his back about a week ago, but the point guard thought he could play through it. He did not inform the Mavericks' trainers of the issue until after he was called for a blocking foul on Harden, which made the injury worse.

"He sustained a back injury basically at the 11-minute mark of the first quarter last night," Carlisle said. "He attempted to take a charge on James Harden, hit the ground and from that point going forward probably should not have played any more, but he did. He wasn't able to play his game or play as well as he can play. Today, it's not good, so he is going to seek additional opinions. That's where things are at with him."

Carlisle said that Rondo is not expected to be around the team for the rest of the series as he explores additional medical opinions.
