Celtics Meet With Greg Oden

Lisa Blumenfeld/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Boston Celtics and free-agent center Greg Oden met Saturday, according to the teams president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.

The Celtics join a list of teams that have inquired about the center's services. Sources of ESPN NBA Insider Chris Broussard said New Orleans, San Antonio, Charlotte, Indiana and Dallas are all interested in Oden.

The 25-year-old Oden has had knee problems his entire career. He hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 5, 2009.

The Portland Trail Blazers selected Oden with the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. The 7-footer proceeded to play in 82 games in two seasons for the Blazers, averaging 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge Isn't Panicking...Yet

National Basketball Association(NEW YORK) -- So far, the 2012-2013 has been a struggle for the Boston Celtics. Despite the team's poor record at this point, general manger Danny Ainge has no plans to shake up the roster just yet.

The Celtics, who made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, are just 15-17 through 32 games this season. They are just eighth in the Eastern Conference standings at this time.

Boston ranks 20th in the NBA in points per game, 30th in rebounding, and 15th in points allowed per game. But for now, Ainge isn't ready to push the panic button.

"We're just looking at what we're capable of becoming," Ainge said on WEEI on Thursday. "I think we haven't found the right pieces. I think that Doc is probably going to tweak the lineup again and try to do some things different. We'll just try to be patient with this team as long as we can."

The Celtics have won just three games out of their last ten contests.

Jeff Green Re-signs with Celtics

Stephen Dunn/Getty Images(BOSTON) -- Jeff Green will be back in Celtics green this NBA season.

The Boston Celtics officially announced the signing of the forward, ending many weeks of speculation whether the deal would get done.

"We are thrilled to have Jeff back with the Celtics," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said in a statement on the Celtics' official website. "Jeff's versatility on offense and ability to guard players out on the perimeter is something that we are looking forward to having on the court this season."

The two sides have been in a handshake agreement since the middle of July, but the official announcement was held up for unknown reasons.

Green missed the entirety of last season while recovering from heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm.

Two seasons ago, green averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Celtics.

He was acquired in a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder for a package that included center Kendrick Perkins.

Boston Celtics Sign Free Agent Guard Jason Terry

Dallas Mavericks/NBA(BOSTON) -- The Boston Celtics signed free agent guard Jason Terry. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

“Jason is one of the best sixth men in the NBA and his versatility in the backcourt is a great addition to our roster,” Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said.

Terry spent the last eight seasons in Dallas and helped lead the Mavericks to the NBA title in 2011.

“The Celtics have such a great tradition of winning and it was something that drew me to the team right away,” said Terry. “I look forward to getting out onto the court and helping this team in its pursuit of another banner.”

Jason Terry: Whatever It Takes to Win

Dallas Mavericks/NBA(WALTHAM, Mass.) -- Although Jason Terry hasn't signed an official deal yet with the Boston Celtics, he's ready to do what it takes to win in Boston.

The Celtics agreed to give Terry a three-year, $15 million contract — the mid-level exception — to leave the Dallas Mavericks and Terry spoke about his move to Boston on Saturday.

“I’m still smiling from the phone call I got from Doc," said Terry. “I’m just excited about being part of this Celtics organization, the franchise, obviously the heritage, the tradition by just putting that jersey on."

The Celtics are hoping to work out a sign-and-trade deal instead with the Mavericks so they can offer another free agent a mid-level exception.

"If they need me to wash the uniforms or sweep the floor, whatever role Doc (Rivers) wants me to play I'm here to do it at 100 percent and give my all," said Terry.  "That's what I've done my whole career, whatever puts us in the best position to win these games, to win a championship, that's what I'll be doing."

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said he hoped to have everything finalized this week.

McHale: Boston's Big 3 Could Return, Ainge Open to Idea

National Basketball Association(NEW YORK) -- The Boston Celtics Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals was perceived by many as the end of the run for Boston's "Big 3." Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett are both free agents, but there is a growing belief that Boston could retain their core.

Celtics legend and current Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale for one thinks that we haven't seen the last of the Celtics as presently constructed.

"Not done yet," McHale said. "They got to the conference finals, we'll see what happens. Those guys have got contracts that they're going to have to get signed; it has yet to be determined what's going to happen. I would be surprised if they didn't try to put the team together for another run for a year or two."

Despite what McHale thinks, it all comes down to what Celtics general manager Danny Ainge thinks, and he's open to the idea as well.

"That's a tough 'yes' or 'no' question," Ainge told CSNEE.com when asked if the team would bring back Allen and Garnett. "We want guys back that we have on our roster right now. We'll have good dialogue ... and figure out who is coming back.

"The entire Celtics family supports Jeff during this difficult time in his career."

The 25-year old Green, was traded to the Celtics in the middle of last season.  While in Boston, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds a game.
